CURVE Open House Weekend & Twilight Party

CURVE studios & garden will host its Spring 2011 Open House Weekend & Twilight Party on April 22, 23 & 24 @ 6 • 9 • 12 Riverside Drive in the heart of Asheville's River Arts District.  Everyone is welcome.

All studios will be open to visitors from 10am to 5pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday with The Friday Night  Twilight Party starting @ 5 to 8pm on April 22, Earth Day 2011.  The Twilight Party showcases finely crafted food from Roots Cafe, White Duck Taco Shop, Short Street Cakes Spinning Spider Creamery & the Wedge Brewery.  If we are lucky, Akira Satake may play some banjo in the new patio/stage between #6 & #9 CURVE.  The CURVE Open House Weekend also serves to welcome the newest artists to join in @ CURVE.  This year we proudly welcome Karen Newgard, Alena Hennessy & Mary Farmer.

The mission here @ CURVE is "Bringing people to ART & ART to life in Asheville's River Arts District" ...so please do show up!

6 1/2 year old says this studio "is the coolest!"

Clay Davis, daughter of & my friend, Becky Davis came by the Studio after Becky ran in the Idiotarod.  Clay who is 6 1/2 years old, along with Becky, my friend Ginger & Ginger's god daughter Che helped me move my big table to its new resting place.... later that day Clay was overheard to say "That's my friend Pattiy. She has the coolest store in Asheville." Just melts the heart.

Fabric Shopping in the ATL

The Cotrice Collection gal, Cotrice, on the left, hooked me up with a great new matte jersey source while i was in Atlanta this past weekend.  Came home with a bunch of great fabrics that will become mostly new skirts for spring just in time for the CURVE studios & garden Spring 2011 Open House Weekend & Twilight Party coming up April 22nd to 24th.  Please save this date!

"Horizon" the third in the Quiet series

I started a series of quilts that are "quiet" several years ago.  I am back with them again... with "Subtle" & "Horizon" so far with one more coming I hope.  Turns out "Quiet"was purchased thru The Signature Shop in Atlanta, GA by a client who has come back asking for 1 maybe 2 maybe three more larger versions... The serendipity here is that i came back to this color palate before i knew of this client's interest.  Some time i love how the world works.  Support is all around us.  This is a good thing.

I was a VCU Basketball Cheerleader

no really... i actually was a VCU basketball cheerleader when i was in college there.... i was on the gymnastics team and we did the half time shows at all the home basketball games... go RAMS! crazy

The New Website

It is time to make a web presence for Pattiy Torno @ CURVE.  I guess I should not be surprised but I continue to be grateful that I have an ongoing business such that I need a web site.  So here goes...
